Note: If you already have a valid, in-date HSE medical for the appointment, just bring that along.

1. What types of medical examinations do you offer?

We provide the following medical examinations:

​

  • Recreational Divers Medical: For individuals over 45 or those with specific health conditions, ensuring fitness for diving activities.

  • HSE Divers Medical: Required for professional divers, including those in media, scientific research, or diving instruction.

  • OEUK Examination: For offshore oil and gas workers, ensuring fitness for duty in remote locations.

  • Fit to Train Medical: Assesses lung function and ENT health, often part of the OEUK medical.

  • Renewables Industry Medical: For workers in the offshore renewables sector, focusing on balance, mobility, and sudden incapacity risks.​​​​

2. How do I book, amend or cancel an appointment?

Appointments can be booked through our online booking system on the "Book Appointment" page. To change your booking or cancel you can contact us directly at 07711709049 or email info@divingandoffshoremedicals.com.

3. What should I bring to my medical examination?

Please bring the following to your appointment:

  • A valid photo ID.

  • Details of any significant medical conditions, past or present.

  • A list of current medications.

  • For HSE Divers Medical: Completed MA1 questionnaire, countersigned by your usual doctor (for first-time candidates).

4. How long is each medical certificate valid?

  • Recreational Divers Medical: Valid for 1 year.

  • HSE Divers Medical: Valid for 1 year.

  • OEUK Examination: Valid for 2 years.

  • Fit to Train Medical: Valid for 4 years.

  • Renewables Industry Medical: Valid for 2 years.

5. How long does each examination take?

  • Recreational Divers Medical: Approximately 30 minutes.

  • HSE Divers Medical: Approximately 1 hour.

  • OEUK Examination: Approximately 1 hour.

  • Fit to Train Medical: Approximately 20 minutes.

  • Renewables Industry Medical: Approximately 1 hour.

6. What is the cost of each medical examination?

  • Recreational Divers Medical: £128

  • HSE Divers Medical: £135

  • OEUK Examination: £260

  • Fit to Train Medical: £40

  • Renewables Industry Medical: £280

7. Do you offer additional tests or services?

Yes, we offer additional services such as:

  • VO2 Max testing (Chester step): £20

  • ECGs: £40

  • Drug and alcohol screening: Please enquire for pricing.

  • Specialised blood tests and vaccinations:

8. Where are you located?

Our examinations are conducted at the London School of Diving, Chertsey Industrial Park, Chertsey, KT16 8FH.

10. What is the cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling.

11. Are there any prerequisites for the HSE Divers Medical?

First-time candidates must complete HSE's "Medical Questionaire For Diving At Work" . Returning candidates with a valid medical certificate do not require this, but they should bring their valid MA2 as proof of certification.

12. Do you provide medicals for international work?

Yes, our OEUK Examination is valid for the British, Norwegian, and Dutch sectors. Some employers may accept it for other regions; please verify with your employer.

​

13. How soon will I receive my medical certificate?

Certificates are typically issued at the end of the appointment. In some cases, further investigations may be necessary, which could delay issuance.

14. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept most credit/debit cards, apple pay and google pay.

​

15. Can I combine multiple medicals in one appointment?

Yes, we can combine examinations where appropriate. Please inform us when booking so we can allocate sufficient time.
